Hi i wont to move my newts from my 5 gallon tank that is cycled. To my 10 gallon tank that is not cycled. What is the safest way to do it . I have api test kit i ordered a new sponge filter that uses 2 sponges. I have a same spong filter in my 5 gallon tank but only uses 1 spong. All my rocks live plants floating dock moss balls will go in new aquarium. My sand from 5 gallon aquarium i was planning on saving it. But for now my ten gallon is filled with water treated with reptisafe. I put new sand on bottom two new small java furns in it. I wont to be safe and put as little stress on my newts as possible. Thanks:frog:

The safest way would be to take décor or another filter from a tank that was already cycled. If you could wait though, I recommend it. Also, if you're looking for aquatic live plants, I personally suggest elodea/anacharis, it's perfect for hiding, plus it's essentially made for the newts to lay eggs on, makes egg laying easier

Thank you're always helpful. I'm glad I found this website. With the help of the different information on this site I have found . I am going to try to raise my eggs myself.:D
