Cycling help

I finally got my master test kit today. Ammonia is at 0.5, pH at 7 and nitrites and nitrates at 0. The information book that came with the kit claims that if i add ammo-lock, it will make the ammonia non toxic, but will not alter the cycling process. I can then apparently add nitra-zorb which will remove nitrites from the water. Is this a way around waiting through the cycling process?

I'm no expert in cycling, but i think ur better off waitng for it to cycle properly without the aid of adding chemicals cause they will mess with the readings of ur test kit also.. "be patient" i know it's hard but worth it in the end

While the ammolock will not disrupt the cycling as it only binds the ammonia temporarily, the removal of nitrite from the system will disrupt the cycle. It is simply better to wait it out,

Thanks for that. If my tank (water supply tank, not fish tank) water is contaminated with ammonia, is ammo-lock a suitable way to deal with the problem when I do partial water changes?
