Hi, i already have a 1 year old melanoid axie in a cycled tank which i got as a juvanile of 6 months, my neighbor's mum would also like to get her a juvanile for her birthday this year in september, and i would keep the little one in the separate tank at my house until that date, I was wondering if i simply added a second filter to my current cycled tank and left it functioning in there with my normal one for a few months, if the bacteria from the current filter would take hold in the sponge of the new one and allow me to simply move it to the new tank for 2nd axie?

Thanks very much! c:

Yes you can definitely run the new tank's filter in your current one. It will build up a colony of good bacteria from the established tank. You will still need to monitor the parameters in the new tank and feed the bacteria once you move the filter to the new tank and establish the cycle but running the filter in your already established tank for a few months will certainly speed it up considerably :)

No worries at all :) glad I can help
