Hey everyone,

This is my first post here, but I couldn't wait to share this. My tank gets too hot. I could have just made a frame and mounted pc fans on top, but I really have been wanting to give this a shot for quite a long time.

I designed and machined acrylic bases and mounts for the various components. This one contains two 60W capable coolers, but I underrated them from 12v to 5v as a start. It's set to automatic control.

I haven't gotten a chance to put it fully to the test as I have yet to get my thermal pads though as fedex decided to be the usual failure of a company. I think I'll just slather it with thermal paste.

Hi there and welcome to the forum.

I'm very impressed with your custom built cooler.

Thanks. A little update. Unfortunately, I am not getting any transfer through the aquarium glass. I didn't think it would be THAT much of an insulator. I'll convert it to an inline cooler when I get back. For now I just made two panels. Each holds two 120mm pc fans. It's a lot cheaper, and has actually helped. The 10g below is at 24.5*C, while the blown tank 20g long is at 22.8*C (which is still high). Raising the water level should help. It's also silent. I need to clean up the wiring.
