This would be the second batch this year and comes just as the males are cresting. Well, true be told, I'm just assuming these are Triturus eggs because they share a large tank with some Cynops pyrrhogaster of various races.

They're much greener than I seem to recall:

Here is another egg in the same tank, which I'm assuming is that of a C.p due to its dark color:

Would anybody disagree with this assumption? It's not only the new eggs that are green but also the larvae inside more developed eggs. Here are a couple pics of some more eggs found today that are at different stages of development:

Pics from the last time they laid eggs are at:

I regret to say I failed to successfully raise the larvae at that time. Also, I didn't have a decent camera then, so it's a bit hard to see the eggs to compare them with the latest batch.

Here's a pic of one of my two males:

Hi Tim
I consider that your t.cristatus are t.karelinii. And I would say that are Ukrainian t.karelinii for their characteristic colorations and structure.
Well, it is nice to discover new specie in your aquariums, isn’t it?
Best wishes

Based on the color, yes, I'd say the white/greenish ones are Triturus.

I would say in my scientific opinion, that those green eggs and larvae are due to radioactivity. If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times... stop taking your baby newts/sals on field trips to the nuclear power plant!

And just so everyone knows, I'm kidding guys. Don't write me posts saying that I'm an idiot.

Had a question that I just want to be sure of. My marbled newt is a little over a year old and has started to develop and I noticed that he is starting to swell a little below his abdomen. I guess I’d like to know if they are his testes or if I need to be concerned.

Hello!!! I'm new to this website and idk how to ask a proper question on the designated spot yet, so I'll ask here, I'm a first time Axolotl owner, and my dad used to run an aquarium store, anyways... Orca, my Axolotl, seems to loose parts of her toes on one limb from time to time, I can't seem to find the problem. Tempature is well, she doesn't seem to have any infections or anything, though. And I'm not sure if I'll be able to find a vet in Brazil for amphibians that are in a reasonable distance to drive without stressing Orca out too much

Hello, I’m hoping for some advice please. Our Axolotl is about 7 months old. Till now no problem. Eating, growing and happy. He’s simply stopped eating. Everything looks fine, his gills look healthy and no apparent signs of sickness. He just swims past the pellets and bloodworm like he can’t smell it. I don’t think it’s a blockage either. Any ideas and suggestions for treatment would be much appreciated. Thank you!
