This may sound silly, but I've always wanted to create a layered environment for my axolotl tank, such as having some small ledges they can hang out on, to give them more space away from each other.
I would want them to be temporary of course, so I was wondering if anyone has ever done this or has any suggestions?

I know for reptiles, they can sell little ledges which stay up with a magnet on the inside and one on the outside. Is a magnet safe underwater? Would it be harmful to my babies?

I just think it would be cool, and it could have some plants growing on it, maybe even draping over, I don't know. If anyone has seen anything like this, or can think of ways it can be done, please share :)

Sounds like a cool idea idea, would love to see a photo :D

As for the magnet, I'm not sure if they would leech metals into the water, but magnets for cleaning fish tanks are quite common.

Depends on how they're set up- if they're sealed, they're okay. If not, maybe avoid. You could also use stones to create a table which you could top with slate. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
