Hi
This morning I put one of my boys in the girl tank temporarily but realised that he was keen to court as he was starting to dance. I put him back in his tank as I don't want them to breed, and their are siblings so shouldn't. I put one of his brothers in the tank with him later in the day and immediately they both started to dance and their gills went bright red. I'm assuming that they are both male, its late here so can't get a good picture without blinding them so won't. I did find spermatophores in the tank so removed them. I've separated them now. So, my question is, do males ever display this courting behaviour? I'm not sure what the correct term is.
Thanks for any responses, I'm really just curious as this wasn't expected. Although they both have been isolated so I'm sure they would be keen, and its chilly in this house right now so the temp is probably good.
