I've been looking around trying to find answers on this topic and I have found some advice, but I'm wondering if anyone here has any opinions on this matter. My current tank set up is one adult axolotl living on her own in a 55 gallon tank with a filter meant for a 75 gallon tank. This tank used to house two adult males, but they recently passed away due to a sudden, virulent disease... So the queen now commands this kingdom. I haven't had any problems with the cycle but I'm wondering if this could possibly be harmful in the long run due to a bioload that is just too small? There's never really any spare food in her tank, and I don't plan on getting her tank mates (she snaps at literally everything. Fingers. Plants. Water current. Shadows.) so there's never excess waste buildup. Any input is appreciated!

I'm also looking for suggestions on decor to add layers to her tank. It's a tall 55 and I want to add things to give her the ability to explore more of the water column and laze about in different areas.

Hello. I just noticed two notches, white small bubbles on the hind legs of one of my male newts.

Hey everyone, just want a little advice. Its 55 - 60 celcius in my Salamanders tank. Hes curled up and tyring ti bury himself, Im assuming hes too cold. I was wondering if he would benefit from a heated rock cave (since he LOVES his cave) that I could set on low? I NEVER see him curled up and trying to bury himself unless his tank sits at 63 degrees celcius or lower. So I am assuming hes a little uncomfortable.

He also seems a little sluggish, again, assuming hes cold. Having heating trouble with the new house right now. What do we think? Was thinking of grabbing this for him since its got very low, medium, and higher medium heat settings that exude heat downward inside the rock cave but ALSO exudes it UPWARDS outside of the rock cave, effectively keeping the tank itself a little warm. Seems like it miiiight be a little small for him though, my guy is about 7 inches from tip of his nose tothe tip of his tail. I also asked this as an actual question in a thread in case anyone wants to answer it there instead of here
