I read something about the coolworks microchiller in another topic (about tank temperature).
Who has a chiller like this? It seems interesting because it's a lot cheaper than the regular chillers. I don't seem to get how it works (all google results are in English and my English is ok except when it comes to more technical terms...)

I know that the Iceprobe for exemple needs you to cut a hole in the glass of your tank. Is this also needed for the microchiller? Because if it is, I'm no longer interested :p I'm not handy enough to cut holes without messing up the whole thing :)

So who owns it and are you pleased with the results?
Who can tell me in simple terms HOW it works? (for example, how do you need to hang it...hole needed?)

Thanksalotl!

It is similar to an iceprobe chiller. It looks like they are designed to sit on top of a filter. An iceprobe can be used the same way. The iceprobe does not drop the temp much and is only appropriate for small tanks. It looks like the coolworks is much the same.

Pay the extra and get a real chiller, I got a Hailae 130 (suitable for up to 300L) for about $300 freight included. Works like a dream, my baby's tank hasn't hit over 19c and we've had a couple of 34c days

The microchiller is only supposed to drop about 4c in a 10L tank... its of no use for axi's
