Okay Ive asked this question before.
I have 2 JEBO F-9020 Cooling Fans
They work great but still at some problems.

I came home from work and my tank was at 74F:mad:
Know i have no AC on and the Outside Tempature was75F-80F today.
I had my door closed and my celing fan on(Like Always)

My mom told me it might because i had my door closed and no air could escape. Normaly my fans keep the water temp about 64F-68F(Not perfect but good for now)
Im thinking it might be the outside temp also. Im going to do all the same a today but keep my door open and see what happens.:(

I also thought about getting more fans but how can a fan help if its just blowing the room temp air onto the water.
My other plan was to make a thing to lift my tank up a little and put computer fans so it could cool the water from bootom to up. Which i thought that would work great since heat rises.

Please help me out and let me know some beeter ideas or comment on the ones i posted. Im getting really scared for my little buddy.

Thank You so Much People of CAUDATA!!!!
Sean:grin:

hi sean

i have the same problem our temps get up to 40oC in summer with 80% humidity so if is very sticky......i have a hose running from my filter into a tuckerbox freezer(chest) and then back into the tank (it works ok but it does take up extra room)i also float frozen plastic bottles in the tank.....i have almost saved enough money for a chiller which is going to be wonderul for next summer...........

Yeah I do the bottle thing and put Ice Cube in the water. The thing is that Im still in High School and after I have work till 8pm. So I need my water to stay cold when Im not around. I thought about getting a Water Cooler thing and run tubes in and out of the tank. I just dont know how well it will flow and work about. I can make room for it but it will be really cluterd in my room.

I cant buy a chiller cuase I am saving up payments for my car and plane tickets to see my Girlfriend. so the $500+ is out of the question!

hi sean
the money thing sucks doesnt it...........you could have hoses running from your filter and into a esky and put ice on top. i used that for ages and that worked really well but you have to pay for the ice morning and night....i think i was paying $5 a day.......i think you guys can use ice probes in the usa but they arent available over here and they where a lot cheaper ($50-$80)from my research...check into it yourself tho....

Okay Im looking up computer fans.
Question 1:
Several Small Fans
OR
Few Big Fans
Question 2:
How would I plug them in?(Pin Male/Femle)
They just have a thing for a computer jack.
Do I just get a wall plug in with a computer jack hook up?
Question 3:
Is there a way to connect all of them to one jack?
I dont want a Million diffrent jacks....
Question 4:
Would LED's on the fans make more heat than cooling the tank?
I mean that would just blow!
What if I bought LED strips would that be better?

Thank You!

hey sean
there is a section on this website that goes through the different cooling ideas(sorry i dont how to attach the link).....and that talks about computer fans....that will be more helpful that me....i had marine fans attach to the side of my tank but i didnt think it did much(i probably set it up wrong tho).....
good luck

Hi Sean

Re you fan question, I'm only a newbie at this but I believe that the fans are all about increasing the evaporation of the water in the tank, which cools the remaining water in the tank, just like the evaporation of water from a swim or sweat cools the human body. The fans need to be pointing at the water or across its surface. Naturally, you shouldn't have a lid of the aquarium or the fans wont be effective. Pointing the fans at glass misses the point of evaporation. And whether the fans are big or small I think it relates to the volume of air flow and the more air flow then the more evaporation and the cooler the tank gets.

I only got my axies in Feb (ie late summer for us in Sydney) and my tank was always over 20deg C and up to 74 as you have experienced. Temps are cooler (18 deg C) now that we are in autumn but I've forked out for a chiller to put a permanent end to the problem for next summer. My axies didn't seem to mind the higher temps but the people on this forum seem very experienced and I'm taking their (expensive) advice and have got my tank set up right now to keep my axies happy.

Best of luck in making your axies happy :)

Well I just came home from school, I left my door open for my room and my Tank Temp went down. I'm about 68F.

I don't know if I'm still going to get more fans but we will see. Thee hotter the outside temp gets the better. Than we will have the AC going and that should ensure that my tank is good to go.

Thabk you for the help ppl
