Hi guys! Just wondering your opinions on cooling fans. Fiancé and I have managed to find one that suits us and our tank perfectly but I'm worried it will disrupt the water too much and upset our little guy. Does anyone have any experience with cooling fans? Do you use them with your axies? :)

I use a 70mm computer cooling fan at one end of my sliding lid and two 70mm open vents at the other, when the fan's running this forces a stream of air over the entire water surface and reduces temps by up to 4 degrees. The only bad point is floating plants seem to really hate the air movement!
I should say i use this method with newts and they don't notice, but i doubt it would bother axies either!

I have a 4 unit cooling fan, works well in the UK where summer usually doesn't get beyond 30C.

But you really need a chiller for where you are, you won't be able to get away with just a fan for long.
