Our P. Waltl, hasn't pooped for almost a week and isn't as hungry as normal. His diet is earthworms and freeze dried black worms which he usually comes over and begs for but he just hasn't been interested. Other than that, he's acting the same as usual. Does anyone have any advice?

here are some pictures of Spot in his tank. He lives in a bare bottom filtered tank with a large rock as a hide and a plant. He's about 7 months old

He hasn't wanted to eat today either. I read how it helps axolotls to go in the fridge, would that be good for a ribbed newt?

It doesn't look bloated so I wouldn't be too concerned. Is it showing any unusual behavior ? You may want to check out the safety of freeze dried blackworms, freeze dried food is supposed to cause digestion problems.

I would stick to earthworms or other live food. Frozen food is slightly better than freeze dried if you have a hard time getting live food.

How often should he eat and poop now that he's bigger? He's acting normal other than not eating and when I try to give him a worm, he twitches away from it. He ate a small worm on Friday and shed and ate his skin on Saturday (about 5 days ago)

I have a hard time getting live food here, i live in canada about 2 hours from a major city and overnight delivery usually means 4-5 days, not good for live worms (I've tried with blackworms). I'm trying to stock up on earthworms from my garden for winter (no chemicals used on it). He won't eat frozen bloodworms and those are the only frozen food I can find around here. Anyone know of any good suppliers who sell in/to Canada?
