Common salamander found in the forest behind my house.

My friend had a tank with of these, but his parents are making him get rid of it. He's giving it to me because he knew I wanted one . I think it looks alot like a redback salamander, but his stripe isn't nearly as brite as all of the ones I see online. We're in Michigan, any idea what it may be? I'll try to get a picture on here too.

Still sounds like a redback to me. We have quite a variation in them down here; anything from bright red, yellow, orange, and even a dull grey stripe.
