Alright so after waiting less than a week for my decoration to be delivered I got started on the new home I was planning for Princess Andreah (she used to be 'King Andy' but I recently rigured out he is a girl.)
I ordered all my plants, filter, test kit, and epoxy glue online at Your Canadian Discount Aquarium Supplies Specialists!! Filters, Water Pumps, Foods and more. for less than $100.00 !
So I got my axolotl in November, her first tank had small gravel and when I posted a picture of that, holy **** it was like putting a picture of a dead cow on a vegetarian's wall. So I went out and got her some medium sized rocks and replaced her tank with those, this is what she was living in for about 3 months or so:
I decided I was getting bored of that and if I was, she definatly was. So I began my process of making her a great home she would love. This is how it began:
The sand is made by CaribSea and it is for freshwater and salt water aquariums. I purchased it at Big Al's and they said it was safe for axolotl's and I trust them. There is about 20 lbs in there, not very thick at all. Here's what I got online:
I got some pieces of slate at Big Al's too and used the epoxy glue to bond them together into a cave !! It is a really nice purple color too. Put in some of the decorations after that:
And FINALLY after filling the tank with water, we have the final creation. You can see Princess is getting accustomed in her container haha.
So? What do you think?! It looks really bright but it's not too bright.
