just a simple question if a white axolotl and a black one breed what would the colour result be. i still dont get the genetics

well i just had my leucustic breed with my wild type all i got were wild type.

Jason, it really depends on the genotype of the adults. You could get quite a variety.

a black one- i think ur refferring to wild type..or melanoid
a white one- that would be some sort of albino.

it really depends what type of the above u hav. answer these questions about each of ur axies and i can then figure it out.
Does it have dark pigment?( black brown )
does it have shiny pigment? ( sparkles...nto really shinny and sparkly- they look white almost, liek white spots- its mostly seen in the gills )
does it have yellow pigment? (yellow spots?)
does it have colour all over or just on top?

all assume ur black one is melanoid and your other one is a white albino. I think ur babies coudl either turn out all black, or a mixture of
1=all not shiny
2=all dark or some dark some white
3=all even colouring
4=some or all yellow
the above 4 things will be in combination of each other.
thats just a guess.
but i recon all will turn out like the black one....those are the odds.
i hope i helped not confused!!!

yes thanks it has helped i dont have any axies yet its just that i needed to know what the babies would have turned out to be. thanks very much for the info

Jason, you really won't know what kind of babies you have unless you know the genotype of the parents. Without this, you won't know. To maximize your chances of getting multiple color variations, breeding a wildtype with an albino or leucistic will probably give you the most variation.
