Color gone

i have a axie. i dont know what he or she is. but when hes in the tank (the old one) he would float all the time because it was small and to much water flow. so i guess he got stressed and lost some color. so i put him the fridge fo 3 days before i put him in the new tank(its cycled). hes not floating last i saw but hes lost alot of color. he used to be real dark.

Bookie, I am not sure why he is loosing color, but he looks really thin. I think the color loss might be from him being in the fridge, cold water causes them to change color slightly but that is a pretty big color change for your little guy. How often do you feed him? I suggest feeding him either more often or bigger helpings.

I feed my Axies every two days, but with occasional treats during the week. They get crickets once a week, their stable is earthworms. I also feed them Indiana Axolotl Colony pellets.


I hope he will get better

From what you said, the axolotl has been stressed by the filter and the refrigeration. It's not unusual for them to fade when stressed. Feed him up good, and he'll probably be fine.
