Just wanted to know does anyon eknow if they make color enhancing food for newts and salamanders. They have for fish but i was wondering if i blend the food together and freeze it would it be safe for my newts?

I don't know, you might want to post this question in their species section on this website.

Rangen brand salmon pellets and ZooMed Aquatic Newt Food both have canthaxanthin. The formula for these two foods is basically the same. I suggested to one of the ZooMed supervisors that their newt food should be similar to Rangen salmon pellets. About a year later ZooMed came out with newt pellets that look identical to salmon pellets and have the same basic formula. Canthaxanthin is a color enhancer for golds, reds, and oranges. It is a good color enhancer for gold axolotls. If using live foods you can use color enhancers for foods for the food. Canthaxanthin and beta carotene are great things to add to foods to boost orange, red, and yellow colors. For more beta carotene you can feed earthworms and crickets carrots and paprika.

Will they eat carrots and paprika though? I mean since those are veggies and I got the impression Axies eat mostly insects and meat :)

Michael means to gutload the feeders (earthworms and crickets) with carrots and paprika before feeding them to the axolotls. :p
