Are there Coast range newts in San Diego County?

Forum policy prohibits providing locality data.

You may be looking for fun, but someone may be looking to take a whole bunch of animals from the wild to sell for profit, so we don't allow anyone to publicly provide locality data. Additionally, we encourage members to be wary of whom they provide with locality data.

I didnt want specific locations. I was just wondering if there is a population in the county.

The type locality of Triturus klauberi, a synonym of Taricha torosa, is "Boulder Creek, San Diego County". This is published field guide information [Handbook of Salamanders of the United States and Canada], and every field guide I've glanced at specifically mentions San Diego County as part of the range.

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
