I’ve just started feeding my larva today they already had some daphnia breeding inside their container and producing some baby daphnia for them. My daphnia culture seems to be very slow in production, so I don’t want to harvest too many right now. So I put some microworms in today. I wanted to know how much I needed to clean after the microworms. They are so small that it is not really possible to suck them all out after they die. Are daily water changes necessary? are microworms as soiling to the water as brine shrimp?
I feel like changing the larva’s water everyday would be stressful for them.
On a side note I have some larva with very small heads and only one eye. Has anyone had any experience with this type of deformity? One of them died today, it actually looked like he was ripped apart. Should I expect the rest with this deformity to die as well? Should I separate them from the other larva?
Thanks
