My friend is wonderfully generous and is giving me an old 36x18x17" tank for my incoming axies! *much, much love* However, she says it may need a good scrubbing and possibly some extra sealant just to be sure there are no leaks.

I was wondering if there were any soaps or cleaning solutions that were preferred over others. I read on another website about someone cleaning their betta tank with dish detergent or bleach or something and a person told them it was a bad idea.

Any approved cleaners for an initial tank cleaning, prior to any cycling or anything?

I have read that you could use bleach but im unsure of the dosage. I think i have also heard of using a mild mixure of vinegar and water.

I'm pretty sure it's a 10% solutoin of bleach solution, I've also heard about using vinegar

Ok, I think I'll give a dilute bleach solution a try. Thanks, guys! :p

(P.S. can I just say how much I love all the smiley icons on this forum? They're so much fun! :D)
