How do you clean an axolotl tank without stressing it out?

When you say clean what do you mean? The common thought is to do a water change every week and once a month empty it head to toe and scrub. Is your tank cycled? "Normal Cleaning" should involve removing all the axies unwanted food and it's waste then doing a 20% change weekly.

Dont empty your tank and scrub it, ever. This will destroy your cycle, only do it if there is disease,parasite or infestation, in other words emergency only, then you will have to essentially re cycle your tank ,though it wont take as long because of an established filter, (unless you scrubbed the filter too) it is a harmfull and unneccesary thing to do, so much of your bacteria lives in your substrate.
