Now that I've recently taken on a most likely wild larval tiger salamander I am absolutely paranoid about the possible pathogens I have brought into my house. I know at one time TreeWalkers were offering a free Chytrid test, but I believe it has since been discontinued.

I do practice good housekeeping and keep all of my species completely separated, but I still worry.

Can anyone advise me of a way I can test my animals and or water for Chytrid/ranavirus? I'm probably pretty naive in this department, so any input is greatly appreciated in advance.

Try contacting a local university that has a vet school or wildlife department. They might be interested in doing testing or know someone who is.

Thanks Kaysie! I'm going to contact Brown University.
