I'ld like to say sorry cause most probably i will be asking too many questions, it's just a first time in my life i got a newt

I have a Chinese warty newt that was leaving together with other fish in the tank for three month. The tank is for 60 liters, i have aeration system+mechanical filter.

Then fish started dying one by one. They had white spot disease - it was cured, then it was unexpected death. Out of 9 i have only 3 fish now.

And like 5 days ago i noticed on the skin of my newt black gutturals (three: on on the head, one on the back and one on the tail) i added general tonic in the water . Next day i noticed that gutturals had smth white on top like micro dots or smth similar and the fish was biting it. i put my newt in the separate tank with clear water put a big stone in the middle+ general tonic

These things fell off and now it's covered with brown skin i also noticed that on that on the location of the guttle there is an indent.
Im feeding it with frozen shrimps once a day for the past week my newt is not eating.

I really do not know what to do!

It is better to keep newts by themselves (no fish). The reasons are (1) sometimes the newt eats the fish, or the fish attack the newt, (2) most fish need warm water, but newts need cold water.

Moving the newt to its own tank was a good idea. Keep it clean. What is the "tonic"?

The word "guttural" or "guttle" is not a word. What do you mean? Maybe a "sore"? Or "spot"?

How long did you have the newt when the problems started?

Also, medicines for use with fish do not necessarily work with newts and may even be dangerous...

"ich" medicine is probably some mix of formalin or malachite green.

If the fish are getting whitespot and dying, thats a sign that something is very wrong in the tank...better test water conditions!

thank you very much for your help guys! The newt is having this problem for already 15 days. I think it's getting better, i think... but im no very good in newt diseases. You know it looked more like an abscess. White things that were onit fell off like 4 days ago. Now it's like a wound covered with brown peel. Im changing the water each day, like 20%. Yesterday I bought Sera bactopur and added it in the newt's tank. He seems ok, as far as i can see. But still not eating at all. After i added this medicine in a couple of hours i saw him standing on his tail, that he never didi for the past 2 weeks, does it mean that his tail is not hearting anymore?

Dear All, I would appreciate some help identifying P. waltl disease and treatment. We received newts from Europe early November and a few maybe 3/70 had what it looked like lesions under the legs- at that time we thought maybe it was the stress of travel- now we think they probably had "red leg syndrome" (see picture). However a few weeks later other newts started to develop skin lesions (picture enclosed). The sender recommended to use sulfamerazine and we have treated them 2x and we are not sure they are all recovering. Does anyone have any experience with P. waltl diseases and could give some input on this? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
