Chinese fire belly newt skin discoloration

I've recently noticed some skin discoloration on my Chinese fire belly newt. his behavior has been strange lately, not eating, not moving too much, he seems distressed in the water when last week he swam around with my other newts. I don't know what's wrong, and I was hoping someone could help me identify what's wrong with him.

Yes, it's a new animal. I rescued it about 2 and a half weeks ago when I saw it running around a mall near the pet shop where it was being sold. I already checked those webpages but I'm still clueless as to what it is, and I'm afraid of giving him any treatments because I don't want to damage his skin or hurt him any further.
