Hey, just wondering if any one has some recommendations on chillers?

So far I've been looking on line at the hailea range for around 30-350?
What in particular should I be looking for?

My tank is 165 litres I believe and 90cm x 42 x 59.

I use a hailea chiller and i find it quite good. Its one of those that work quite well yet within an affordable price range.

The strength of your chiller depends not only on water volume but how also how strong you expect it to chill. If your area heats up considerably during summer (ie high 30s to low 40s), it is worth investing in a stronger chiller so that it can cool your tank down effectively to the comfortable range.

Most chillers meant for a specific water volume capacity can chill the tank down effectively about 10 degrees lower. However on very warm days (ie 40 degrees), the same chiller may not be able to chill it down sufficiently to around 16-18 degrees.

do you know the number of yours?

i have been look at 100a, 150a and i think 250 a

I use a 6 by 2 ft tank now. My chiller is quite a powerhouse. You would not need one so strong.

hi,

i jsut purchased a new hailea chiller 150a from ebay for $345 including postage.

this is what it said:

can out put up between 250 - 1200 litres per hour
rated as 150 L -16oC up to 300 L - 22oC

i hope that will be suitable for my tank.
