I had a question about whether to get a chiller for my axolotl tank. I believe that it is going to be quite difficult to keep the temperature below 24C over the summer here given how much my new apartment heats up and was considering buying a chiller. I know about the ice bottles and everything but I wanted a more long term stable solution to temperature problems. Also I am not sure how long axolotls can stay happy in the fridge as he might have to be in there for a couple of weeks if it gets hot so thought about a chiller. (Unless they can stay long periods of time in the fridge? I would do daily water changes and everything...)

So far the most suitable ones I have found are here:
www.marinedepot.com/ps_AquariumPage~PageAlias~chillers_coolworks_iceprobe.html
or this one:
https://www.myreefshop.com/xcart/product.php?productid=112&cat=43&page=1
(hope I am allowed to post a link to a shop... if not I apologise, and will edit)

I have a 60L (16gallon) tank and based on a friend's advice in a similar apartment with an aquarium, the tank could get up to 30-35C (85-95F) (35 on *extreme* days, which are not that many) with out a chiller or other temperature control. Do chillers cause water flow or any other stresses for an axolotl? And will the ones above be ok for the temperatures I am expecting and tank size? Wondering which one is better...

Anyway, I know it is an expensive option but I am not too concerned about that if it will keep my tank cool :) Thanks in advance for any advice.

Edit: Gah! I can't get the first link to work, it keeps coming up with a gab in the word 'probe'. Just remove that gap and it will take you to the right page. Thanks.
