I have had my tiger since August, and have been feeding mealworms, wigglers and crickets mainly. We had chicken for dinner tonight, and always throw some into my box turtles. My sal was out also and begging. Can she have it also?

Ive heard of people feeding them raw meets and cooked meats im sure they will eat it but im not sure how healthy that would be for them... i feed mine pinky mice two times a month, they love it.

Yea, I'm wondering about nutrition. I did end up trying just a tiny piece and he took it, and seemed to enjoy it. However, if it isn't good for him, I don't want to do it again!

They eat it surprisingly well, and since it is very convenient, many people feed them vertebrate meat. It is however a very unnatural food, very incomplete nutritionally since you are only feeding muscle, they can´t really digest it properly and it is very caloric (and so it can rapidly cause obesity).
I would not feed any vertebrate meat except perhaps WHOLE, small fresh-water fish, and only as an exceptional treat.

Two pinkies a month could be a bit too much, you should monitor their weight.

Thanks so much! I will avoid it from now on!!!! What kind of small fish do you feed?

I use Gambusia, on very rare ocassions and after having made sure they have passed a 30 day quarantine.
I used to breed them but i found myself needing their tank xD
