Hi guys,

my paddletail newt ( labiatus ) is only around 4.5 inch long head to tail. he's been feeding on live tubifex worms but i wanted to change to frozen bloodworms.. everytime i put in frozen bloodworms, there'll be no response from him.. but he goes on a crazy treasurehunt whenever i put in live tubifex.

is there anyway i can make him change his diet?

thanks in advance!! :p:p

Mix both. That way it will take bloodworms if it wants to take tubifex and eventually should make the connection that bloodworms are food too.
However, bloodworms are bad as an staple, leading to severe deficiencies, so i really hope you don´t intend to make bloodworms the whole of its diet.

alright thanks!

nah i just wanna make sure he takes in more than one kind of food.. then i'll introduce chopped earthworms the same way etc.

thanks again! :D

Earthworms are better than tubifex and bloodworm combined and labiatus love them! If you get big ones they will need to be cut into small enough pieces for the newt to swallow.
