Ok I think I already know the answer to this I just wanted to see what other people thought and if anyone had any experience in this;

Would I be able to mix cherry shrimp in with my chinese fire bellied newts; or do you think they'd become a snack?

It's mainly because I have hydra in the tank and I'd like to try and get something that would help control it as cleaning it isn't solving the problem really.

Hello, I have cherry shrimps living together with CFB adults and no problem. Shrimps are faster than newts, and after few days you'll see them very close to each other. :)

Ok thank you; I just didn't want to get shrimp and find out my newts suddenly have a very full belly.

Hmm it turns out hydra would eat the baby shrimp so shrimp wouldn't be a good idea. I'll definately consider shrimp once the hydra go.

my cherry's live with my very large adult C. ensicauda ensicauda, and will do fine

what kind of moss is that your C.?? you didnt say which kind but either way, ive been reading through the forums for alot of information and ive got alot so far, and that kind of moss would look nice for my future C. pyrrhogaster groups and im also planning on getting shrimp of some sort, if anyone could tell me what kind of moss that is it would help

also it is very possible that the shrimp could be snuck up on but although possible, difficult depending on your newt/ salamander species you have a CFB so its unlikely but possible that it could become a snack, good luck
