CFB eating young Physa acuta?

I have 2 CFB´s in a tank,and about 2 months ago I added 2 physa acuta, mainly to get rid of algae. Now while in the other tank I took them from they reproduce like crazy(full of young snails), no young snails in the newt tank, the interesting part is that there are a lot of snail eggs in with the newts, also clearly hatched clutches.Could it be the newts eat the young physa snails?

Newts have been known to eat small snails, so I'll bet that is what's happening. Supplemental protein.

But my CFB never do that. Is it because you are not feeding enough?
