This year , so far , H. dunni has been by at least 6 persons. In total 30 eggsacs were laid (so 15 females) . I think there were at least 1.000 eggs deposited, but I am currently sampling the data (temperatures, egg deposition time & position). So this could really give a boost to the studbook of this species (I feel like I am the victime of my own success here !!)

Congratulations Henk.

Sounds like you will be busy.

Excellent work Henk. Hopefully others will follow with studbooks for other species in the near future. You'll have to come for IAD next year to present your info again-- I may actually be back in the states for it next year as well.

Well this depends on IAD offcourse ... I'll see or hear it when they are interested again to have me I guess....

With the new camera I will try to make good larval shots now and I have my inflammable bathtub rezady for salamander rearing again (diameter is 6 meters and hight 1 meter). It has been standing outside since last summmer and there's alot of live in it already, so larvae will be able to feast

Anyway before anybody misunderstands me : with "victime" I mean that I will have a lot of typing to do in the studbook...

Great work Henk! When you know that this all started with just a few specimens and a lot of enthousiasm! I wish there were more species taken care of in this manner.
