Since this year I have no travelling plans (which I will compensate later, be sure) I was trying to breed the maximum in my salamanders with special focus on the hynobidae.At least that was the idea...with the odd weather this spring things started looking very bad , but currently with the warmer temperatures it looks better ...
I have meanwhile close to hatching eggsacs for H. retardatus (2 genetic distinct)groups, H. quelpartensis (but partly turned out bad, still enough in there though). For H. tokyoensis the recent eggsac still is uncertain to see if it is fertlised. Amazingly my H. okiensis also set of an eggsacs but it already looks bad. H. dunni just deposited this week and one more species has also led eggs : H. tsuensis (yeah !!). I also have a gravid kimurae young female, but I don't think this will work out.... since the males don't seem that interested. I do hope to expect eggsacs of H. nebulosus too and I am still raising 6 offpsring of those of last year. So for Hynobidae I had a late start but it may still turn out to be fine.
Strange enough no eggdepostions in A. macrodactylum (which makes me partly sad).
Now I hope the eggs that have been laid will prove to be fertilised, in the case of okiensis this is bad news already (but it is fine to find the eggs though). I am already very very happy with breeding retardatus again. 2 eggsacs are close to hatching , the other 3 are laid recently only and as such I need to wait a while.
Due to camera failure and uncleaned windows I have not been able to make many interesting shots lately, but I hope to be able to do so now since I got a week off from work and a repaired camera in now... So give me a week to start posting again some of those asian beauties
