Hello all
Ive recently got my first canister filter and i set it up and primed it. But when its pumping there is a clicking sound', it says in the instructions that this is the 'air rubbing' and that to remove it you should tilt the filter. I tried this but it didnt work and there is still a clicking sound. I am going to take it apart to have a look at it but in the instuctions it doesn't say how to take it apart when it is full of water!!!! And I really don't want to get water all over our house.? So do any of you know how to take it apart without the water going everywhere and also how to stop the air 'rubbing' and clicking.
Any help would greatly appreiciated.
Thanks
P.s its in my bedroom so unless i sort it i won'T sleep at night?

I don't know anything about this filter but if it's tapping against something you could put a little piece of sponge to absorb the tap. Otherwise you might have to just get a new filter. :(

Or if the company has a phone number you could call and ask them for help.

Thanks
But it doesnt seem to be tapping agaisnt anything, im convinced there is just air stuck inside and i not sure how to get it out .
Its so loud!!

Check online for the brand and possibly how-to on YouTube.

I tried that but they dont work for some reason. Would it matter if i just turned it off a night then turn it on again as soon as i wake up??

Hey, I wouldn't turn it off at night and then back on during the day, too much time and beneficial bacteria would die off. I would take it apart and check to make sure parts are moving and try it again. Air stuck in a canister makes a gurgling noise not a clicking noise. What kind and model of canister is it? Check the impeller.

Hey
Ok thanks
I took it apart and everything seems fine and its pumpoing water but it still clicking. When i tilt it on its side it stops clicking so i guesss that it's air stuck in there. When i hold it up to the light i can see a few tiny air bubbles in there but not much more.
