ok, this might be a stupid question, but Mama is wondering:
I noticed when my young apuanus or marmoratus larvae have binged on BBC, they become so fat and sluggish they can barely swim for a while. When you nudge them, all they can do is paddle lazily, none of that quick reaction you get normally. The marmoratus, being the more aggressive hunters, are particularly good at overeating brine shrimp.
The older apuanus larvae near metamorphosis are so greedy they stuff themselves to the point where they look like they swallowed a chick pea, and then they too can barely move. They eat Daphnia, chopped earthworms, bloodworms and white worms. I alternate food sources day by day.
Should I feed more sparingly? Maybe skip a day every now and then for the older ones? Or should larvae basically eat as much as they can at all times?
