I've bought some more water treatment today, so I can now top up the water in my new tanks (they are only 1/2 full, as I only had 2 + a little bit bottles of treatment, but each of the 2 tanks looks like it'll use 2 whole bottles).
I know each bottle will treat 57 litres, so with the 3ft tanks I just measured out 57 litres (5 x 10l in a bucket, then the additional 7l) + added the water treatment along with 1 of the bucketfuls.
However, my axolotls are currently in the tanks, so I'm thinking of temporarily housing them in buckets while I add the water.
Now for my question - can I add the treatment the same way as before (using a whole bottle in 1 bucket, then adding the rest of the untreated water to the required amount), or do I need to add the right amount into each bucketful of water, bearing in mind there is already cycled water in the tank? Will the existing water affect the effectiveness of the water treatment being added for the fresh water?
Does that make sense?!
