Can anyone tell me what knid of newt i have and how to care 4 it

We just got a newt and hav no idea what it is. It is black on the top, and very bright, solid color orange on bottom. e-amil me with help plz AWMCOOLDUDE@AOL.COM

Welcome to the site! We could do with a little more information, how big is the newt? does it have rough or smooth skin? Or even better post a picture.

Probably some kind of cynops. Check on this page if your newt matches one of these cynops species

if it has smooth almost slimy skin i'd say pachytriton

what ever it is the most likely answer is a fire belly species have a look at this link:

the only other possible species it could be would be a taricha sp.
