Im trying to figure out what kind of salamander he is. There is a picture of him when I first got him and what he looks like now.

It´s an Ambystoma tigrinum or an A.mavortium. I´d say mavortium but there are people in this forum who are more capable of giving you a definite ID.

Like Julia said, you'll definitely need to move him to a terrestrial setup, or you run the risk of having him drown. Adult tigers are not known for their swimming abilities.

Oh, ok. I didn't know that. That must be why he is on top of the rock more often now (outside of the water).

I will make sure I do that. I have never owned one before and it doesn't seem like many people know about them. Thank you.
