I have 5 adult females and 3 males but only one of my males (Morpheus) seems to be getting it on with my females. Yesterday he became a father of another massive batch which is his third batch in 6 weeks. My girlfriend managed to capture a video of my albino laying. Is there a limit for breeding males? Can anything stop him? I want to breed him with my other 2 females as well as I've had a massive demand for my other babies but am I running the risk of him eventually running out of love? The last thing I want is a batch of infertile or unhealthy eggs. I also don't want him to overdo himself.

Or maybe there's no limit at all and he can continue spreading his seed...?

By the way I'm thinking of changing his name to Austin Powers- Thoughts? :D

I haven't heard of this ever being a problem. I researched a bit to verify this assumption. I couldn't find anything warning about over-breeding a male. I recall a biology lesson from my college days where my professor essentially explained, sperm is cheap, eggs are expensive. I imagine this applies to your case as well. Reproducing/breeding is taxing on a female axolotl's part, but its next to nothing on the male's end.

Austin Powers would work, but I'd name him after his condition; Randy : )
