This is one of 3 male C. pyrrhogaster found today under submerged leaves in a gully in far western Tokyo.

Notice the distinctive tail (short, paddle-like, with filament) that identifies these as "Kanto race" C. pyrrhogaster.

yep, all three are male as one can discern by the tail shape, the filament, the swollen cloaca, the papillae seen in the 2nd pic, and the nuptial coloration (which is not as vivid with Kanto as it gets with some other C. pyrrhogaster "races").
