Hi all
This is my first proper post on Caudata.org so tell me if I do anything wrong.;)
One of my Cynops Orientalis looks quite chubby. I think it is a male but I was told that fin like tails aren't always indicators of a male  Anyway, it eats quite a bit but not necessarily more than some of the other newts but is probably the most rotund. He or she has been like this for weeks and I was wondering whether it may be a case of Bloat? It doesn't look as bad as the pictures of Bloat infected newts on Google Images but I just want to be sure. They are Wild Caught by the way, I did not know at the time of purchase as it was from a website, and I have had them for almost 2 months.

The picture below shows the bulge better.

I feed them mostly small earthworms (sometimes chopped up) in small portions worth about 2x 5cm long worms most days so that the hungrier ones are able to eat but don't feed for a day if they all look fine. The water in my area is hard water if it helps.

So am I just paranoid or is it Bloat? And if you would be so kind to tell me if it is a male, please do

Thanks for any help

The animal is definitely male and seems to be in good shape, you got lucky.

Looks like a healthy young man.
