Hi, Everyone

I just thought i'd share my little babies with you. I got these three C.e.popei on Dec.30. They are such feisty little newts. They have been eating fruit flies and small crickets and one of them has eaten bloodworms from tweezers. They live in a 10 gallon tank with a coco soil mix, a small waterdish and a hide spot made from planter dishes.

Hope you like them.

beautiful pics Ben. They have a lot of white spots, very nice. Thanks for sharing

The little sprouts are grown from commercial finch seed. I find they help to keep the soil clean as long as they are removed and replaced before they decay too much.

They sure have a nice coloration. Normally there´s two drab ones for each pretty one, you are lucky xD

Thanks Azhael,
a friend of mine has a colony that are notorious egg eaters. These three little guys happened to be hidden well enough. Then one day he noticed a larva and upon closer inspection, found three.
He raised them until they morphed and then traded them to me. So, yeah I'd have to say I'm pretty lucky. :D

I'm envious, I can only hope that once I have the basic newt keeping/breeding skills down we will have a few more types of newt here.
