At 2 months, my 26 juvies are driving me straight into the poorhouse.

Any idea where to get bloodworms in bulk at a better price than Petco/Petsmart?

I have found a supplier here in the UK that does them in 1kg bricks - not much use to you over there, but you might be able to find something similar.

Or get them onto earthworms - chopped up or baby worms should work.

Think I can start now? They are all at least 3" (estimate) and the largest is pushing 4.25". We have red crawlers here. Thinner than the nightcrawlers and just about as long. How big should the pieces be? Head width? How much should I feed them? They are Hungry little buggers.

3" = ideal size to start on worms! Are you breeding the worms? You can use the baby worms whole, or cut larger ones in to 3 or 4 pieces. My 5-6" babies are taking whole large worms now.

As for how much, you just work on the usual principle of width, or bung in some shopped worms and see what happens!

Did quarter inch cuts of a small worm. Put it in the tank of my largest juvies. Some gobbled, some chewedvand so it out, then ate another piece. Guess I'll go get worms today.
