Hi everybody, I have read through every thread on ingesting stones. I found some of this information helpful, however none of the threads match my situation. I have a paddle tail newt for about 6 months. Over the past month I noticed a small lump under his front left leg, it protrudes out so that he belly/lower neck is not smooth. Last night I witness what I can only describe as an attempt to throw up. I also saw some light colour/ white liquid come out of his mouth, it was very light and hard to see. I am wondering if everyone else is thinking the same thing as me and that he has swallowed a stone.

I would post a picture but the glare from the tank is too much to take a decent picture. Will he pass the stone naturally? I fed him monday and he appeared to eat just fine, like any other day. I will feed him again tonight.

Any suggestions and feedback will be greatly appreciated.. I'm very worried.

They frankly do not know what might be happening. It is not always what it seems, so you suggest that you read the article of caudata culture about the diseases from one end to another. If indeed it is confirmed that swallowed a stone you could well have avoided it at the time that the substrate chosen, because from what I saw what thou doest is not in any way the most suitable. Because it is very easy to swallow.

Well thank you for taking the time to reply to this thread, however I do not understand the purpose of your message. I was simply asking for some advice. I am well aware that my substrate is infact the wrong choice. I did not need you to point that fact out to me. As an owner that is deeply concerned with my pet at the moment, I would expect a bit of empathy, not to be patronized by simply telling me this could have been avoided. That does not change the circumstances in any way, and does not offer any solutions or ideas.

Yet again I appreciate feedback, that is why I had posted this, however I don't need to be told what I have done wrong when I am asking how to fix things.
