Hey all.
I have a young lucy, and 'she' is so very persistent on snuggling with my adult male who is about 10 inches long. About a month ago 'she' managed to get past the tank divider and get her left back leg nomped completely off. It's growing back now, and she has five tiny toes at the end of her bump. No fungus, normal activity, and still tries to get by Yaotl [my big guy] by hanging onto the mesh divider like Spider man.
When I got home from work today...she managed to get over by Yaotl again. This time she didn't lose a leg, but it's broken. She's in a small Tupperware full of dechlorinated fridge water my boyfriend and I kept for backup... she seems normal. Readjusts and then stays still for 10 minutes at a time. The leg does not move.

My concerns:
1.Her foot isn't very mangled, but it does have 'stuff' hanging off of it...I'm not sure if it's fungus or the slime coat that may be peeled off. it doesn't look like any fungus I've seen, but I'll keep an eye on it.

2.Will the leg straighten out and go normal, or will 'she' be stuck with a crooked leg?

3.Her gills and veins are super red. is this just from the cold?

Thanks in advance!

That hanging stuff may well be skin or slime coat, especially if she tried to squeeze past a divider. Looks like she may have a graze on the injured leg.

The red will be from the increased blood flow - normal.

But for a leg to be at that angle - is it the break causing that or did she injured her shoulder too?

You know that axies heal exceptionally well, I would leave her be unless you think she is in distress.
