How can I help improve the chances of breeding with my Chinese Fire Bellies, I really want to start breeding them because most of my friends have seen mine and want some of their own. I told them I could try to get them to breed so I was just wondering how I can quicken up the process.

~Any help would be appreciated~

Thanks, Aaron

To tell you the truth, they breed VERY easily...as long as you have both sexes and you keep them apropiately housed and fed...they will breed. No need for a winter cooling or anything else...all they need is to be healthy.
If you have both sexes and have had them for a while and yet they don´t breed i would think something´s not ok with their housing or diet.
To encourage them you could cool them in the winter months...as i said it´s not necessary, but it should promote breeding. Also make sure the female has suitable places to lay. They are picky, so offer variety.
I have no proof whatsoever about this being a trigger...but my pair have always started breeding after a sort terrestrial period caused by moving from one town to another. I take for granted it´s just coincidental...but it´s also kind of funny that it´s happen thrice (the three times they have bred for me).

I don´t have any further recommendations because really, as i said, all they need is to be properly housed and fed...that does the trick in most cases.

Mine have been laying eggs for over three months now and I did nothing (didn't want this but it is exciting!) to encourage it. I was told by the pet store that it was very difficult to reproduce and they were obviously very wrong. If you're sure you have a male and a female, be ready for eggs. If she keeps laying, I will be willing to donate eggs if you need some!

Can anyone put up any pics of what plants you are using and the setup?
