Breeding easterns?

hey, does anybody know anything or know any good sites about breeding eastern newts? How are they sexed, does the male always have a broader tail? Should they be removed form the large tank, put in a smaller tank in the basement,where its colder, and then put back in to breed? I would appreciate any information. Thanks!

They are sexed like most other newts...Look at there cloacas...They need a cooling period to breed...Or at least as far as i know.

Actually, they're best sexed with the male's hind legs. They will be larger than the female's. Also, during breeding season, they have black things on the toes and on the thighs, used in amplexus.
