I have 2 new liitle baby axies about 4 days old and i am feeding the daphnia, however does anyone know how i breed the daphnia so i dont have to keep buying it as they all keep dying after a day
thanks

If kept in good conditions, Daphnia should reproduce regularly. I keep a few tanks and tubs with old aquarium water and I add a couple Daphnia, and a little bit of axolotl poo, just until the water is slightly clouded, and they feed off the bacteria that grow off of it.

If the daphnia die in one DAY, you are doing something seriously wrong. Even poorly-kept daphnia should live for a few days. What kind of water do you put them in? What size (or water volume) is the container you keep them in?

This forum has a Live Foods section, with an entire subsection about daphnia. It is possible to keep them going for a long time, and you'll find some tips there. Also, there's a good article here:

My first attempt some time ago failed miserably because I used fresh tap water. It could be the tapwater contained chlorine for which the daphnia are highly sensitive. The daphnia died relatively quick in that water too, 2 or 3 days at most.

I now have a pretty big tank outside in which a culture is going steady. I feed them green water from another tank in which I put some common plant fertilizer. I think Juraj explained this method in a topic somewhere here...
