Breeding Age? Too old?

Okay I am aware that it can take up to a year or so for an adult Axolotl to start breeding. though my question is there an age cap at what they stop breeding? I mean is there a certain age that Female Axolotls can no longer breed viable eggs?
Any knowledge would be very helpful on this.

I don't think there is any top age or equivalent of the menopause in axolotls. I do not know of any proper research papers on the question. I vaguely remember reading that beyond six years egg laying may be erratic and especially if they have been kept on the warm side six year old axolotls may be physiologically old.

I think in nature most animals die before they even get to the age where they can no longer produce offspring.
My axolotls are about 6 years now, in 4 months time the female laid eggs 3 times, never seen her lays so many eggs, maybe because I fed them more then i used to.

I was wondering the same thing. I recentally got a 6 year old male and female and was wondering if i need to watch for eggs.........
