Boy or girl axolotl??

Is my axie a boy or girl , i get very confused why is it that my other axie has a smaller cloaca than the male one? here is an adult one , could they be male and female?? sometimes it looks like that they're male and female it's weird. does it mean that the bigger cloaca is a male and the smaller one isnt?

From the picture it looks female to me. Adult male cloacas are very enlarged compared to female - even more so around breeding time. From experience I've found female cloaca's can look slightly enlarged when they're getting ready to go to the toilet - this could be the reason why you're getting mixed signals.

Definitely a lady. Like Neeka said, the male cloaca is usually pretty large, like they've stuffed it full of tennis balls (slight exaggeration).

While tigers aren't the same species as axolotls, they're quite closely related. Here's a picture of my male tiger's cloaca, as an example.

Definitely probably a female. Although exactly how old is it? I know an axie that we had mistaken for a female for the longest time until he finally started showing. He was a late bloomer, apparently, because his tankmate (who was actually slightly younger) was showing very clearly long before.

But yeah, female.

Without knowing how old it is, I would say female.
