A few months ago I changed my setup over to include more of land area because my verrucosus seemed to be spending more time on land. Water quality and temperature have been great. I noticed a few weeks back that one of my verrucosus has a light blue sheen covering the upper sides of its body. It may have been present before, maybe I didn't notice it earlier. It is not vivid but is definitely pronounced when the newt enters the water. The newt eats with vigor and seems very healthy.

Does this have something to do with breeding? I don't remember reading about anything like this in verrucosus threads or caresheets?

Any thoughts?

I've never seen a blue sheen on mine but sometimes when they're a bit dryer (terrestrial) their black could take on a coloration, maybe.
